Hogsett takes job at Indy law firm

U.S. Attorney Joe Hogsett is joining an Indianapolis law firm.

Hogsett announced earlier this month that he was stepping down as United States Attorney for the Southern District of Indiana, effective this week. Now there’s word he’ll join the law firm of Bose, McKinney and Evans LLP in Indianapolis.

A news release from the law firm says under Hogsett, the U.S. Attorney’s Office broke records for the most criminals charged and sentenced. It says the Southern District led the nation in the average sentence length for convicted felons.

Hogsett also served as Indiana Secretary of State in the late 1980’s and early 90’s. There’s been speculation that he may run for mayor of Indianapolis.

In his role at Bose, McKinney and Evans, Hogsett will focus on internal investigations and corporate audits.
