Henderson shooting victim was from Evansville

A man who died after a shootout in Henderson has been identified as an Evansville resident.

The Henderson Police Department says 29-year-old Demarco Bradley died of multiple gunshot wounds, following the incident at 2491 Wood Drive, Apt. C, early Wednesday morning.

The HPD said in a news release that 27-year-old Zachary Pearson told officers he heard something at his front door and opened it, thinking it was a pizza being delivered.

But instead, he said a group of 4-to-5 men stormed into the home and one of them – later identified as Bradley -- shot Pearson.

Pearson said he ran down a hall, grabbed a gun, and returned fire.

Pearson himself was shot again, but he wounded the armed intruder multiple times.

Pearson said the other men fled the residence, leaving Bradley on the floor.

Bradley was taken to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Police said evidence at the scene supported Pearson's statement.

No one else was injured.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact Henderson Police or Crime Stoppers at 270-831-1111.
