Henderson residents voiced their concerns on the short list of I-69 bridge corridors at Tuesday evening’s open house.  The I-69 Ohio River Crossing (I-69 ORX) Project Team is looking at three bridge proposals, two of which could affect a number of Henderson businesses and residences.

Lynda Spooner lives in one of the homes potentially impacted by West Corridor 1. She instead favors the Central Corridor with the least disturbance to urban development.

“Before I came I wasn’t sure what they were going to do, but now I’ve seen the route and now I’m worried about the impact on my home and trying to get home,"  she said.

I-69 ORX spokesperson Mindy Peterson said this kind of feedback is important during the selection process.

“It’s not okay to simply present  information and not give feedback. You want it to be an interactive process because that community input and support matters for the project,” she said.

The project team hopes to release more specific information about homes and businesses affected by each corridor by the end of this year and choose a preferred route by the fall of next year.
