Henderson Man Accused of Killing Woman Found Dead in Evansville

A Henderson man faces a murder charge after a woman was found dead in Evansville.

Henderson Police say 30-year-old Neil Heiss is accused of killing Monika Roberts.

She had been missing since late September, after she was treated for a gunshot wound.

Roberts’ body was found this week in the 500 block of S. New York Avenue in Evansville.

In a news release, Henderson Police said “countless numbers of witnesses were interviewed and multiple search warrants executed” leading police to the Evansville address.

Authorities say an autopsy performed Wednesday determined Roberts was a homicide victim.

Heiss was arrested a week ago on unrelated charges.

Henderson Police ask anyone with information on the case to contact Detective Shannon Troutman or call Crime Stoppers at 270-831-1111.
