First accumulating snow possible

The first accumulating snow of the season for the Evansville area is expected Thursday.

The National Weather Service says an upper-level storm system will produce a swath of light snow, reaching the I-64 corridor of southern Illinois early Thursday.

Forecasters say the bulk of the accumulating snow should fall during the morning hours in the Evansville area.

The weather service is predicting one-to-two inches in the Tri-State.

It’s expected to taper off from west to east Thursday afternoon.

With plenty of cold air in place, forecasters say any accumulations will likely create hazardous driving conditions.

INDOT and Kentucky crews were pre-treating roads and bridges Wednesday.
