Film company opens facility in Washington, IN

Indiana’s Lieutenant Governor says the I-69 extension is generating economic development.

Sue Ellspermann points to the opening of a new $25 million Alliance Barrier Films facility in Washington, Indiana. Federal, state and local officials were on hand to celebrate the formal opening, and to hear details about a planned construction of a 40,000-60,000 sq. ft. building and new rail spur.

When fully completed in 2017, Alliance says it will operate four new multilayer film extrusion lines producing seven and nine layer films and employing 48 people. The company’s president promises the best blown film processing equipment available.

Washington Mayor Joe Wellman says the new facility will fit right in with other packaging and manufacturing needs in the region.
