Evv man pleads guilty in Warrick Co. murder case

An Evansville man has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit murder in Warrick County.

25-year-old ShawnGrigsby was one of four people preliminarily charged with murder and conspiracy after the body of Joseph Nelson was found by Alcoa workers in February.

Nelson was from Martinsville, Indiana.

The Courier and Press reports Grigsby had four felony convictions between 2006 and 2009 in Vanderburgh County.

Court records show Grigsby pleaded guilty to burglary and attempted armed robbery, and Vanderburgh Circuit Court Magistrate Kelli Fink ordered him to serve at least 80 percent of a 10-year sentence. But Indiana Department of Corrections records show Grigsby was paroled in late December.
