A site has been chosen for an Evansville Christian High School…in Newburgh.
The school reached agreements with Epworth United Methodist Church and Crossroads Christian Church to use 16 acres at Epworth Road and Lincoln Avenue in Warrick County.
The agreements give Evansville Christian three years to design the facility and develop a curriculum, before breaking ground on the new building.
The not-for-profit has studied adding a high school for several years. 5th-through-8th Grade Principal Mike Allen tells the Courier and Press that the high school will include extra curricular activities like athletics and fine arts, as well as a focus on essential 21st century skills.
About 200 Evansville Christian students joined Allen to pray, bless the land, and sing a song together at the site.
